Eating Breakfast

“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” I’m sure you’ve heard this a lot. Breakfast 🥞 is known as a healthy meal, even more than the other ones. It is claimed that breakfast help us lose weight and skipping it can raise our risk of obesity. Seems like a problem since up to 25% of Americans regularly skip breakfast. However, new high-quality studies 🧐 have started questioning the UNIVERSAL advice that everyone should eat breakfast. -is it really going to harm your health and make you fat if you skip it? ⬇️

•Breakfast eaters tend to have healthier habits. It’s true, many studies have shown that they tend to be healthier. However, these studies are so-called observational studies, which can not demonstrate causation. ( they can’t prove that breakfast it self caused  people to be more likely healthier).

•Eating breakfast does NOT boost your metabolism. That’s a myth 🤷🏻‍♀️. These people are referring to the thermic effect of food, which is the increase in calories burned that occurs after you eat. what matters for metabolism is the total amount of food consumed throughout the day ❗️IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE AT WHICH TIMES, OR HOW OFTEN YOU EAT. There’s no difference in calories burned over 24 hours between people who eat or skip breakfast.

•Skipping breakfast does NOT cause weight gain. It’s true that people tend to eat more at lunch if they skipped breakfast but that’s no enough to overcompensate for the breakfast. In fact, some studies have shown that skipping breakfasts may reduce overall calorie intake by up to 400 calories per day.

•Breakfast is optional. There’s is really nothing “special” about breakfast. It probably doesn’t even matter if you skip it or not as long as you eat healthy for the rest of the day. It does not “jump start” your metabolism and either make you overeat or gain weight. Breakfast is optional and it’s a personal preference. If you feel hungry in the morning and you like breakfast 🍳 🥓 🍌 then go ahead and eat a healthy protein-rich breakfast!! If you don’t feel hungry in the morning or feel like you don’t need it, then don’t eat. It’s as simple as that ! 🙃
